The Raccoons Online hackathon will take place between the 25th and 27th of November in the House of Science of Latvian University. There is a rundown of the key dates, but you will find a more detailed Agenda on the Raccoons website closer to the hackathon. www.theraccoons.org/hackathon

 

Any high school or university student is more than welcome to participate. The hackathon aims to foster a safe learning environment for students and young adults.

 

CHALLENGES

Encourage a more sustainable society by building a technological product of any kind.

  • DEEP SCIENCE TRACK CHALLENGE

Aim at recent deep science problems and develop your research in any format.

  • GAME DESIGN CHALLENGE

Whether it's for fun or education, build a game using any tools and languages you wish. 

  • DATA TRACK CHALLENGE

Use any data available and create a visually appealing and informative visualization.

  • YOUR TRACK CHALLENGE

If you feel like a more special cookie you are more than welcome to work on an idea of your own, a project that you have always thought about starting or even a university task that you just can't seem to finish. Get help from the mentors on the spot and compete against other cookies at the event.

 

Requirements

The awarding ceremony starts on the 27th of November 3PM GMT+2 and will end at 5.00pm at House of Science in University of Latvia.

All teams who want to compete for their projects please make sure you submit your project descriptions here in Discord and present a 3 to 5 min pitch in person.

In order to submit your descriptions please make sure you:

 

1. Fill in the project submission form by 1PM 27th of November here in Devpost

The form will ask about:

  1. The title of the project,
  2. A description of what the project is about,
  3. A link to your codebase or any other useful files,
  4. Team members who participated in creating the project and their background

2. Prepare a 3 to 5 min pitch that you will need to present to the judges in person by 3PM 27th of November

  1. The presentation will be a chance for you to show what you can build. You will be able to use your own laptop for the presentation part or send a presentation file to the organziers. If you wish to send your presentation to the organizers you will need to do so by 14:00 and send it an a .pptx format.
